Spring Equals Walks
So spring has arrived in my small town. The bees are buzzing, the flowers are blooming and the riverwalk is calling my name. The riverwalk is approximately 3 miles long or 3,000 steps. This past week I've met my personal goal of walking the entire 3 miles 3x a week.
Drink more Milk!
So today is the first day of my "new" eating healthier diet, no, lifestyle change. Goal is to eat more fiber based cereal [mainly bran flakes], milk products [at least 3 times a day], and fruit.
I went to the grocery store yesterday and bought...
- fat free milk
- light and fit yogurt with splenda not aspartame
- bran flakes
- apples, oranges, and bananas
Today for breakfast I ate...
- 3/4 c. bran flakes,
- 1 c. fat free milk,
- 1 banana,
- 1 splenda packet [to sweeten the deal], and
- 1/2 c. of OJ
I took my green tea capsule, vitamin C, and chromium before I ate so that it would dissolve with food.
Now all I have to do is get back on the excersise wagon and I'll be good to go for the last 15 lbs.
Excersise
Yesterday and today, I did 15 mins. treadmill time... 100 calories burned!
Today is the start of the FFYFC. I am in the beginners program.
Week 1 challenge....walk 3 times a week 15 mins each time.

Horrible Fast-Food Filled Day
Yesterday I had the worst fast food filled day ever! For lunch I ate a double cheese burger, medium fry, and coke zero from McDonald's. For supper I stuffed my face even more with 2 huge slices of Papa John's cheese and mushroom pizza, and a slice of their apple dessert pie. To top the night off I had two glasses of Sprite. Needless to say, I gained a pound :( .
Well today I am in the mood to do some yoga, but I still have two slices of pizza left in the fridge calling my name. Here it is lunch time and I have the delima of excersising first then stuffing my face with pizza or eating pizza first and probably not working out later. What shall I do?? The p-nut is asleep and he will probably eat pizza when he wakes up. Oh hell, I might as well get off this computer and go do some yoga....it does the body good, lol, I might as well throw an ab workout in there somewhere as well.
2 months
So I have given myself 2 months to lose the last 15 lbs. of my post pregnancy weight. I think that is ample amount of time. I just have to buckle down and get to it.
Let me give you the history of how I got to where I am today...
In February 2004, I got married to a wonderful man, gained 22 lbs. of "happy /married" fat [kind of like the freshman 15, only apply it to being love struck]. One month later found out I was pregnant with my first and only son, quit smoking, and gained 55 lbs in pregnancy weight [doctor started my weight at 132 lbs. so it wouldn't look bad on the charts, I believe that I was 110-115 lbs when I became pregnant, but who knows]. December 2004 gave birth to a bouncing baby boy and a waistline that reflected the same [187 lbs. on the day of delivery, my highest weight ever!].
The first 3 months after delivery I was unable to do much of anything but magically lost 30 lbs. naturally. Still not feeling motivated after being a couch potatoe for two more months, I decided to get off my @$$ and do something about the misery that was my body. So in June of 2005 I started the dreaded diet and excersise program. It started out walking every morning with my mother for 30 mins. until it became cold. I also began taking green tea supplements as a means to boost my metabolism [it is natural and safe, I don't do the diet pill thing and I don't drink green tea because I do not like the taste so I take a supplement]. With the walking, cutting back on fatty foods /portion sizes, and taking green tea supplements I lost a total of 62 lbs.
I recently received a treadmill from my uncle to finish up my progress, since it is beginning to be a hassle to get out with the baby. During his naps or bedtime, I will do 15 mins a day on the treadmill. If I am feeling extremely energetic I will also do 20-30 mins of yoga and 10-30 mins of pilates.
Since the holidays I have fallen off of the excersise bandwagon and looking to jump back on it full speed. With this new site and setting my goal weight to be acheived in 2 months, I am hoping that this will give me the motivation that I need.
